High Adventure
What is High Adventure?
The pinnacle of Scouting experiences, high adventure typically involves several days of trekking, paddling, or sailing in remote, wild settings. Older Scouts challenge themselves mentally and physically through elite outdoor activities ranging from whitewater rafting to rock climbing to backpacking. In the process, they learn to overcome hardship, work as part of a team, and live in harmony with nature.
Troop 233 High Adventure
Troop 233 aims to take at least 1 High Adventure trip each year. These trips may be something exclusively planned by the troop, or may be at one of the BSA National High Adventure camps(Sea Base, Philmont, Bechtel Summit, Northern Tier). Troop unique trips can often be done at a lower cost than the national camps, and sometimes we an lower the age requirements depending on the difficulty of the trip. But in all cases, these trips offer scouts an often once in a lifetime opportunity to experience the outdoors in a way they might never otherwise do.
